The Republic of the Future or Socailism a Reality written 1887 (a year, I think, before Bellamy's Looking Backward) is a brilliant satirical dystopian novel by a celebrated essayist of her time.
It didn't get everything right, but it was pretty good for the time. Plus, it's short (a veritable short story in chapters) and to the point. Don't expect a plot, but if you like the genre, and are fond of humor and good sense, this is for you.
