The Heroine: or The Adventures of Cherubina

Scythrop Glowry on Feb 18 20:49:07

This Regency era romp by Eaton Stannard Barret was enjoyed by Jane Austen, adored by Edgar Allen Poe, and loved by yours truly!

From madhouses to wardrobe malfuctions , this 1810s classic has it all!

Hear it all from Cherubina's hilarious perspective as she writes to her governess about her wild adventures from leaving home in a storm without many necessities, to capturing a castle and defending feudalism in the name of liberty!

Cherry Wilkinson was just an ordinary farmer's daughter who loved to read novels, but when she gets it into her pretty golden head that her father is really an assassin hired to murder her, life gets a lot more interesting!

I can concur about how much you liked Cherubina!! I heard many of those scandalous adventures from your recall. It did sound VERY uproarious and fast moving. So glad that you enjoyed reading it.
