The results after 9 gamma ray treatments: significant pain reduction, but the targeted lymph node is larger than when I started. It's like an old Doctor Who episode where they fire the laser beam at the giant robot and it just absorbs the energy and gets bigger.
From the front things aren't so bad:
The swollen lymph nodes on the front of my neck that got me to go to the hospital back in February are still shrunken. And the original lesion is smaller than it was in February, but it's a bit bigger than it's smallest point. (I got it way down by applying some poison ivy: an immune system stimulant. Did not continue due to the swelling lymph gland. I wondered if I had triggered something.)
Anyway, pics of the lesion and the lymph gland below. But first, a peaceful pic to shield those who do not want to see. (Note: any time I'm in public, the worst is visible to all.)
And now, the potentially disturbing pics. First the original lesion:

Dang, looks like an apple. I've never heard of using poison ivy as an immune system stimulant.

That's what poison ivy does to humans. The unsaturated urushiol doesn't poison the skin, it makes our immune systems attack the contaminated skin.
Saturated urushiol is far less irritating. It can be found in the skin of mangos. Cashews are related to poison ivy and have saturated urushiol in parts of the plant. Not sure about the nut proper.

I am wondering about a new procedure on television recently that involved removing T cells from the tumor and then growing the T cells in the lab and then putting the lab-grown T cells back into the tumor. I think it is called something like Car T Cell therapy.

I tried putting a Google search link in the comment box but it did not fit. The link went outside the box. Later I will go back to your tutorials. I need to take some cobbler to a friend now. Today, Amazon should deliver a car neck pillow to you:)

This is the first I have logged in in over a year. I was so sorry to hear about your medical problems. Your fortitude in dealing with it all is remarkable and not surprising. I wish you the best possible as you carry on.
