The flower and bush size is the biggie. The azaleas I've seen in Virginia are just the small flower type. I've been meaning for years to take cuttings and see if I can get these giant varieties to grow in a cooler climate or not.

These giant azaleas are very common in the NC coastal plains.

My knowledge of things horticultural is very limited. Color is what usually catches my eye.
