Monoclonal Antibodies after 1 Week

Apr 7 21:07:09

So, how fast does this Libtayo work? Let's look at the effects after one week.

Friday, April 5th, a week after first treatment.

And compare to the a week before (a few hours after the first infusion):

March 23th, six hours after first treatment.

No visible difference that I can see. However, I do feel some effect.

The earliest effect was negative: on and off fever during the day. This might be an illusion. I was not taking my temperature prior to taking the antibodies. True, I registered no fever during any of my diagnostic appointments, nor during my hospital stay, but those temps were taken with quickie electronic thermometers that I trust not at all. The temps I started taking at home were with a proper liquid metal thermometer with four minutes under the tongue. Readings from normal to 102, and my feelings tracked the readings.

The other case for illusion is that I have been having lots of night sweats, which is a symptom of a fever breaking, and those started well before taking the antibodies.

But after a week I started to notice bits of upside. While the lymph nodes have not shrunk, the pain has gone down. Urge for sunlight or a heating pad has gone down a lot.

And on Sunday, a noticeable return of physical strength/endurance. I was able to finish my federal taxes in the morning and then used the resulting angrrrrrrr to make a screen frame to keep cats out from under my deck and then had enough energy to wash a car. Not exactly the Olympics, but way more than I have been able to do for the past few weeks without gasping to the point of nausea and needing to sit down.

I'm still pretty week and am sore from yesterday's "exercise." But yes, real progress, the useful kind.
