Put away your rainbow flags and put your clothes back on. Pride Month is over. It's now July: Dryer Lint Awareness Month!
Look at all this nasty stuff that was in my dryer duct. Ew! That lint buildup makes your dryer less efficient, which is really bad for the planet. It can even catch on fire and burn your house down which would really increase your carbon footprint.
So remember each July to ream that gunk out with this tool you can get from Lowes:
It attaches to an electric drill to make that brush swirl around and around, scrubbing off that lint.
The drill is in a second picture because I made the pole long by screwing two sections together. You can see in the second picture that I had another section I could have used to make the pole even longer. You can make it really long if you have a long duct to clean.
You should also brush out the flexi-duct used to connect your dryer to your hard duct. (Never do a long run of flexi-duct. That increases air resistance and catches more lint.)
